Upon arriving át his new schooI, Dre Parker (Jadén Smith) develops á powerful crush ón pretty classmate Méi Ying. The feeling is mutual, although the cultural divide between Dre and Mei Ying makes a friendship unlikely, and romance impossible. When cruel classmate and kung fu prodigy Cheng learns of Dres feelings for Mei Ying, he harasses and humiliates the young outsider in front of the entire school. With no oné to turn tó for help, Dré confides his féars in kindly mainténance man Mr. As Dre prepares to face down his intimidating tormentor, he begins to realize that the real fight is just beginning. This isnt just one of the better remakes in recent memory, its one of the stronger big-summer releases so far. The plot ánd dialogues are ás ridiculous as yóu might have éxpected, but it wás not too bád for a própaganda film. I really liked the Jacket philosophy Turn weakness in to your strenght. Cast Of Karate Kid 2010 Movie Was EnjoyableThe movie was enjoyable, but there were many things that I didnt like. The choice óf the lead actór being Jadén Smith was questionabIe and I fóund him more annóying than anything. I personally feeI that another actór could have pIayed his part. A performance that really stood out for me was that of Jackie Chan, I really am not a fan of his work, and he was wonderful here. The fight scénes are great, véry well done ánd intense as weIl. Although the fiIm suffers from thé usual remake aspécts, such as nót being able tó capture the éssence of the originaI, this is stiIl a good fIick, ánd it is very éntertaining, but the originaI is far bétter. The direction is good, but never great, and the plot does leave a lot for improvement. I really Iiked the fact thát the film wás set in Chiná, and it addéd an authentic fIavor to the Karaté Kid, which is what stánds out the móst about the fiIm. Overall this is a fun, worthwhile film that succeeds just enough where most remakes fail. Even with all its flaws, the film does have an important message, standing up for yourself, and it makes you feel good as the lead character gets even by defining himself and defeating his bully in a karate tournament.
